Amigurumi Strawberry Free Crochet Pattern
In continuation of the sweet theme, today I am going to crochet an amigurumi strawberry. These delightfully juicy berries are associated with the sun and the summer, it will be an excellent home decor, also you can use them as toys for children or as key chains.This article contains two patterns – for large and small strawberries. These are my own amigurumi patterns and I spent some time to get strawberries of this shape.Large strawberry is approx. 2 inches (5 cm) high and 1.3 inches (3.3 cm) wide.Small strawberry is approx. 1.4 inches (3.5 cm) high and 0.9 inches (2.2 cm) wide.In order to crochet amigurumi strawberry you need a small amount of yarn. You can use leftover yarn from previous projects. You can also use some shades of pink instead of red. Or even make a small strawberry light green for imitating immature berry.Measurement:Large strawberry is approx. 2 inches (5 cm) high and 1.3 inches (3.3 cm) wide.Small strawberry is approx. 1.4 inches (3.5 cm) high and 0.9 inches (2.2 cm) wide.Note: Sizes may vary depending on the yarn and the size of crochet hook used.
Abbreviations Used (In American Terms)
- sts= stitches
- sc = single crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- Inc = increase
- Dec = decrease
Materials
- Golden Sun cotton yarn 50 gr / 180 m (red and green colors)
- Crochet hook 2 mm
- Toy polyester stuffing
- Needle and scissors
Instructions
How to crochet strawberry:
- For both small and large strawberries we need a stem. We crochet it as well as in the previous crochet raspberry pattern. Work green color yarn.
Detail 1:
- Round 1: Sc 5 into magic ring, sl.st. to join
- Round 2: [ Ch 4, sl. st. into third st from hook, sl.st., sl. st. into next st of previous round] repeat [ ] 5 times to make the leafs. Fasten off.
Detail 2:
- Ch 6, sl.st. into second st from hook. 4 sl. st. Fasten off.
- Using the hook, pull the part 2 to the center of the part 1. Lock in a knot. Remove excess threads.
Large Strawberry Pattern
- Work in continuous rounds. Using a stitch marker (You can use a small piece of yarn of a different color) so you know where one row ends and another begins.Work in reg color yarn. Make Magic Ring.
- Round 1: Sc 4 into magic ring (4 sts).
- Round 2: [Sc, Inc] around (6 sts)
- Round 3: [Sc, Inc] around (9 sts)
- Round 4: [2 Sc, Inc] around (12 sts)
- Round 5: [2 Sc, Inc] around (16 sts)
- Round 6: [3 Sc, Inc] around (20 sts)
- Round 7: [4 Sc, Inc] around (24 sts)
- Round 8: [5 Sc, Inc] around (28 sts)
- Round 9-10: 28 Sc around (28 sts)
- Round 11: [13 Sc, skip stitch] around (26 sts)
- Round 12: [12 Sc, skip stitch] around (24 sts)
- Round 13: [5 Sc, skip stitch] around (20 sts)
- Round 14: 10 Dec around (10 sts) Stuff strawberry firmly.
- Round 15: 5 Dec around (5 sts) . Fasten off. Leave not closed the hole for connection with the stem.
Small Strawberry Pattern
- I highly recommend using a stitch marker.Work in reg color yarn. Make Magic Ring.
- Round 1: Sc 4 into magic ring (4 sts).
- Round 2: [Sc, Inc] around (6 sts)
- Round 3: [Sc, Inc] around (9 sts)
- Round 4: [2 Sc, Inc] around (12 sts)
- Round 5: [3 Sc, Inc] around (15 sts)
- Round 6: [4 Sc, Inc] around (18 sts)
- Round 7: 18 Sc around (18 sts)
- Round 8: [8 Sc, skip stitch] around (16 sts)
- Round 9: [7 Sc, skip stitch] around (14 sts)
- Round 10: 7 Dec around (7 sts). Fasten off. Stuff. Leave not closed the hole for connection with the stem.
- Take a thin thread of red color (can be separated from your yarn). Insert the stem into the hole of the strawberry. Sew the stem to the strawberry.Our crocheted strawberries are ready! As you can see, it was not at all difficult.
