Crochet Amigurumi Strawberry

In continuation of the sweet theme, today I am going to crochet amigurumi strawberry. These delightfully juicy berries are associated with the sun and the summer, it will be an excellent home decor, also you can use them as toys for children or as key chains.

This article contains two patterns – for large and small strawberries. These are my own amigurumi patterns and I spent some time to get strawberries of this shape.

Crochet amigurumi strawberry

In order to crochet amigurumi strawberry you need a small amount of yarn. You can use leftover yarn from previous projects. You can also use some shades of pink instead of red. Or even make a small strawberry light green for imitating immature berry.

Materials: Golden Sun cotton  yarn 50 gr / 180 m (red and green colors), crochet hook 2 mm, toy polyester stuffing, needle and scissors.

Measurement:

  • Large strawberry is approx. 2 inches (5 cm)  high and 1.3  inches (3.3 cm) wide.
  • Small  strawberry is approx. 1.4 inches (3.5 cm) high and 0.9 inches  (2.2 cm) wide.

Note: Sizes may vary depending on the yarn and the size of crochet hook used.

Abbreviations Used in This Patterns:

  • sts= stitches
  • sc = single crochet
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • Inc = increase
  • Dec = decrease

How to crochet strawberry:

For both small and large strawberries we need a stem. We crochet it as well as in the previous crochet raspberry pattern. Work green color yarn.

Detail 1:

Round 1: Sc 5 into magic ring, sl.st. to join

Round 2: [ Ch 4, sl. st. into third st from hook, sl.st., sl. st. into next st of previous round] repeat [ ] 5 times to make the leafs. Fasten off.

Detail 2: Ch 6, sl.st. into second st from hook. 4 sl. st. Fasten off.

Using the hook, pull the part 2 to the center of the part 1. Lock in a knot. Remove excess threads.

Crochet amigurumi strawberry step by step tutorial

Take a thin thread of red color (can be separated from your yarn). Insert the stem into the hole of the strawberry. Sew the stem to the strawberry.

Our crocheted strawberries are ready! As you can see, it was not at all difficult. I hope you enjoyed this amigurumi project. I would be happy to read your comments.
