Instructions

How to crochet granny square:

  • CIRCLE Ch 5. Join with sl st to first ch to form a ring.
  • Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), (ch 1, 1dc) x 7 times, ch 1,  join with sl st to top of ch 3.
  • Round 2: Make 1 slip stitch for moving in ch-1 space. Ch 3 (counts as dc in 4-dc cluster), 3-dc cluster in ch-1 space, ( ch 4, 4-dc cluster in ch-1 space) x 7 times, ch 5,  join with sl st to top of first 4-dc cluster.
  • Round 3: Ch 4 (counts as 1 trc in trc3tog), trc2tog in ch-4 space, ch 3,  trc3tog in the same ch-4 space, (ch 3, trc3tog in next ch-4 space, ch 3, trc3tog in same ch-4 space) x 7times, ch 3, join with sl st to top of first trc3tog.
  • Round 4: Make 1 slip stitch for moving in ch-3 space. Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in same ch-3 space, ch1, 3 dc in next ch-3 space, ch 1, [3 trc in next ch-3 space, ch 3, 3 trc in same ch-3 space, (ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-3 space) x 3 times, ch 1 ] x 3 times, 3 trc in next ch-3 space, ch 3, 3 trc in same ch-3 space, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-3 space, ch 1, join with sl st to top of ch 3.
  • Round 5: ch 1 (counts as 1 sc), 10 sc in each stitch, 1 sc in ch-3 space, ch 1, 1 sc in same ch-3 space, (19 sc in each stitch, 1 sc in ch-3 space, ch 1, 1 sc in same ch-3 space) x 3 times, 8 sc in each stitch, join with sl st to first ch. Fasten off.
