Mini Crochet Easter Egg Basket

Only a few days left until Easter, and I suddenly realized that I had not yet made Easter decorations.
An unfailing attribute of the holiday is Easter eggs, they are a symbol of new life and rebirth. But where to put Easter eggs? Of course we need a basket! Or even a few small baskets for each egg!
So today I suggest you to crochet mini Easter egg baskets. They are very cute and will be a great gift for friends and family.

Material:

  • Acrilic yarn (100 g / 180 m)
  • 4 mm crochet hook
  • scissors

Measurement: Easter egg basket is approx. 2.3 inches diameter and 2.5 inches height.

Abbreviations Used (In American Terms)

st= stitch
sts= stitches
sc = single crochet
ps = puff stitch
sl st = slip stitch

How to crochet a Easter egg basket:

Work in continuous rounds. Using a stitch marker, so you know where one row ends and another begins. I use a small piece of brown color yarn.

  2. Having no luck finding Rubi Cotton online .. Can you please tell me whether it is 3 ply or 4 ply? Thank you

  3. Hello, Jane! It’s 3 ply cotton yarn, 100 gr – 187 m.

  4. Hello, Vonz! Now I’ll try to explain it more clearly:
    Do row 8 – 20 sc, after that we do row 9 equal to row 8 (20 sc) + we go down the “stairs” of the previous rows (6 sc). Totaly 26 sc.
    Then turn around and go in the opposite direction (row 10). Rise up to the edge of row 9 (this is 26 loops) and again we go down the “stairs” ( 8 sc, 4 “stairs”). Totaly 34 sc. This is necessary to create volume.

    I also added a pattern at the end of the post. Here you can see how to crochet these rows.

  5. How did you make the nose?

  6. Hi, I love the mask! Just wondering do you have instructions on how to put the cat face on the mask?

    Nice to have a pattern with a Bohemian background. My mom(who taught me to crochet and knit) was Ukrainian (my grandmother always said she was Romanian!) Thank you very much for the pattern. I wish I had some way to print your pattern that you added for illustration. Thanx for sharing.

  15. Thank you so much! Was thinking about improvising on my own, but this is much easier!

    If anyone wants the gauge, it is about 4.85 sts per inch or about 1.91 sts per cm.

  16. Hello is it English or US crochet ?

  17. Sorry , it’s american 😉 !! Thank you for this pattern

  18. This mask is great! Have you tried it with a thinner yarn? Every time I try to do something like this with a size 2 or 3 yarn it just doesn’t come out right! Maybe I’m doing something wrong.

    Thanks for your pattern!!

  19. I love this pattern, however i didnt like the fact that the sides were two different sizes. I was able to get 9 sc down one side and 13 down the other comfortably without any wrinkles and that bugged me. So i may play with this pattern a little to ensure equality.

    Thank you for this. I like it better than most I’ve tried.
