Only a few days left until Easter, and I suddenly realized that I had not yet made Easter decorations.
An unfailing attribute of the holiday is Easter eggs, they are a symbol of new life and rebirth. But where to put Easter eggs? Of course we need a basket! Or even a few small baskets for each egg!
So today I suggest you to crochet mini Easter egg baskets. They are very cute and will be a great gift for friends and family.
- Acrilic yarn (100 g / 180 m)
- 4 mm crochet hook
Measurement: Easter egg basket is approx. 2.3 inches diameter and 2.5 inches height.
Abbreviations Used (In American Terms)
sc = single crochet
ps = puff stitch
sl st = slip stitch
How to crochet a Easter egg basket:
Work in continuous rounds. Using a stitch marker, so you know where one row ends and another begins. I use a small piece of brown color yarn.
1 Round: 6 Sc into magic ring (6)
2 Round: [1 sc, 1 Inc] x 6 times (12)
3 Round: [2 sc, 1 Inc] x 6 times (18)
4 Round: [3 sc, 1 Inc] x 6 times (24)
5 Round: [4 sc, 1 Inc] x 6 times, sl.st. (30)
6 Round: [1 puff stitch, Ch 1] x 15 times, sl.st. to join (30)
7 Round: sl.st to move in ch-1 arch, [1 puff stitch into ch-1 arch, Ch 1] x 15 times, sl.st. to join (30)
8-9 Round: ch1, 30 sc around, sl.st. to join (30)
10 Round: 30 sl.st. around (30)
Row 1: Ch 26, sl.st. to fasten the handle on the opposite side
Row 2: 27 sl. st. Fasten off.
I really enjoy these crocheted mini baskets and hope you like them too. Happy Easter!
Love, Ana (Bohemian Cat)
